Well, I have the Aeronca fuselage all patched up and the engine cowled - she is running great. Here she is on the trailer headed out to the hangar. I am in process of painting the tail surfaces and as soon as they are done I will install. The wings are still in Stits Poly-brush and I need to Poly-spray then paint before they are ready to go back on. I will also need to strip and repaint the struts (they look pretty bad). I will adjust flight date to end of May instead on April - (money issues)
Also you see my custom bicycle - I have been riding every day - I feel like I am pretty good shape for a guy of 64... my knees hurt a bit when going down a stairs - but not enough to keep me from riding.
We are in process of selection now in the house selling issue - what to keep, what to toss, what to sell. This is an emotional process but it must be done. Once we are done with this process we will store everything we intend to keep - in a storage unit. Sell house - move into our RV load up the motorcycles on trailer and off we go.
Hey! what about the Pitts? She will have to be in storage for quite a while - I hope to be on the road for several years before digging in roots again - when that happens then I'll be back to working on the Pitts. It was a shame what happened - but thats life and I'll just deal with it.
This has been our retirement plan since I can remember - Retire, sell house, pay off loans, buy RV and travel on road for several years - THE TIME HAS COME...
Over & Out!
