Pitts Project - Day 15
I said the next step was the firewall installation. I lied. I decided to make a decision on which tailwheel I would use. The top photo was the original tailwheel, it's an oversize (6 in) Haigh Tailwheel from the 80's. They are locking tailwheels and not real controlable. I decided to remove it and install my favorite the ASI (Aircraft Specialties Inc) tailwheel. It is a steerable control wheel that has gained quite a following over the years. I had one on my Acroduster Too and loved it. I am not sure I will stick with the 1.25 tailwheel springs (with adapter) but we will see. I also fabricated new rudder control cables with double nicopress sleeves. That's it for today, Over & Out!
