OSHKOSH TIME

Because the  Aeronca is not yet flying we drove the minivan to OSHKOSH 2012.  We arrived on Thursday afternoon, set up our tents and headed for the flightline.  Casey Erickson, one of our Acro friends from Calyfornia flew into MSP and joined us for the weekend.  As you can see from the photo, a big C5 cargo plane flew in... it just happened to be from Chrissy's old squadron (the 312th) out of Travis AFB.  So Chrissy got to see some of her old crewmembers.  We had the big IAC banquet friday night and a lot of our CA Acro friends were there along with other Acro buddies from all over the US.  We had a fun time.  SAT night was the spectacular night air show and fireworks.  We all sat out in front the the IAC building and enjoyed the show - it really was awesome.  Sunday we drove home.

Updates:  Tonight I will shoot some more silver coats on the Aeronca wing but that will be it for a while as I am out of money for this project.

Alaska:  Now Chrissys bike will not be ready till the 8th Aug.... I may have to leave early to pick up mine and head South... she will catch up with me somewhere on the road.

Pitts Project:  still no money allocated for this project

Comming up:  The Beaver State Aerobatic Contest in 3 weeks, followed by the Delano CA aerobatic contest a week later... then the Aces High Aerobatic Contest in Newton KS and two weeks later the Nationals in Texas....   I will be busy.  Over & Out!
