Last weekend I fabricated over 500 wing rib gussets for the Pitts - and that's just for the two lower wings - 600 to go for the upper wing - but I am only going to concentrate on the lower wings first. While I am waiting for the spruce capstrip to arrive (3-4 weeks) I will work on a new instrument panel. Yesterday I removed the old panel from the Pitts - it is dark and too damn many instruments - I have now removed all the instruments and will use the panel as a template for the new panel - I'll have flight instruments on the left, engine instruments on the right and in the middle I'll have the compass and G-meter. Covering the compass and G meter will be my lexan Aerobatic Sequence Card holder with built-in I-pad rack. I'll paint the panel gloss white to match the rest of the fuselage and interior.
I am slowly stripping the fuselage of all components. When that is done I will sandblast the fuselage structure and epoxy paint it gloss white (like the factory fuselages).
The Aeronca - I have installed the engine ground strap, radio coax cable, radio and intercom. I have the new antenna on order. Over & Out!
